What is wrong with data entry jobs?

There are many ways to make money on the Internet. Some are scams, some are bad and some are real good opportunities.

I do find that a lot of people prefer to look for a “job” they can do online like “data entry” or “online surveys”. I think this is because people are still holding on the the stability of the only thing they know, their job.

The sad fact is that most “data entry”  ventures are SCAMS. What makes this so sad is that is mostly people who desperately need money who are conned out of their last couple of rands or dollars.

But why is it bad?……
Before you read the rest of my article first read the government gazette at
http://www.freeonlineads.co.za/donot-place-these-ads-gazette.pdf

When you read above mentioned article you will see that most data entry “jobs” are not legal in South Africa.

Most of the so called “data entry jobs” which are advertised is actually not a job. The people who place these ads all bought and instruction manual which teaches them how to place ads on the Internet (data entry) in order to sell the very same manual they bought.

When you respond to the ad and buy into these “data entry jobs” you will end up doing exactly what they are doing. You will be selling the manual which you just bought.

Personally I do not see much wrong with the concept of selling a manual which teaches you how to make money. The thing that makes this illegal and wrong is the fact that the ads placed by these people are all untrue and misleading. The ads is written so that the readr believes that he/she is offered a job for which he/she will receive a salary.

This is not the case, you will determine your own income.

The “data entry” tasks you perform is nothing else than placing small ads on all the free ad web sites you can find.

So you do not need to buy a manual to do this. You might as well join a reputable MLM company like BeMotivatedToday and place ads for recruiting new members who also wants to make money online. This will provide you with a long term Passive Income and is a better option than illegally placing ads and selling your “data entry” manual.

Another version of the “data entry jobs” is a “home typing” service. These people let you pay a registration fee and they will then send you documents to type because they need it in electronic format. What happens next is that you will always submit your work late or there will forever be mistakes in your work and you will never get paid.

So watch out for these ads. DO NOT respond to them and do not get involved in it.

Hey Pieter, what do you make from this:
    http://tinyurl.com/websitetesterbjs
I have googled it and most people seem unsure if it is for real.

    • Pieter says:

Looks like a lot of bull to me. Companies won’t pay millions of people to evaluate their web sites, especially not at $1,000 per month.
This seems like the typical email list building strategy. They build a huge email list and sell it afterwards to spammers.

I think it is disgusting how people can scam honest hardworking people into such lies! If you do join Dataworx in Potch, all you’re going to do is to scam other people the same way you’ve been scamed! I am so upset, not even the passwords they supply you with are valid.

Does anyone have comments on Survey Basket?? Would really appreciate it!!

Be Motivated Today!! I am a member for over 1 year and it works great for me.

    • Pieter says:

@Elzabe – Have a look at http://pietpetoors.com/blog/surveybasket/ . I received 4 Surveys so far which earned me R80 (which is more than the activation fee) and I also earned R1280 so far from referrals. Thus as affiliate program it works great and as Paid Survey they are still working to get more companies involved to use the survey side.

        Hi Pieter

Carte Blanche is featuring a story on these scams this Sunday the 16th of May I think, I have seen part of the previews for future stories and might be this Sunday.

I hope everyone can get some answers as I am sure they have been digging deep into these companies to find out the truth

If this does not expose people and warn others if does turn out to be one.

if they cant get answers then who else will be able too..

good luck to all looking for that honest income and not having to be part of scam to scam others.

    homeBiz Group?
    dataworx ?
they are in Potch I can do it in 2 ways I can fill out Papers by hand or \ and by internet is it a scam I do not want R20000 a month just R5000 to get buy for my wife to do . help my asb ek weet nie meer

    • Pieter says:

      @Gerrit, kyk na http://pietpetoors.com/blog/hbizcoza-scam-or-not/

    Hi Everyone

Could someone please assist me as well. Been trying these scams already and really really want to end up with a proper job now where I’d rather know I will be doing something and not just selling what was sold me.

    Let me know please.

    Samantha

Believe someone by the name of Yolita Fleishmann was involved in the business and it is a scam?

  11. Julie says:

    Hi,
i am a mother with two young children and want to do something from home. Came across the all new data entry.web site and went through it thoroughly as well as testimonials. Please advise me if this is a scam?

    • LB2104 says:

      Hi

It is definitely as scam! I paid and all I received was information that had been taken off another internet site on how to put ads everywhere and scam people into doing the same. Don’t pay them whatever you do. Once you pay, you will also never be able to get hold of them again. They ignore your phone calls and e-mails.

  12. Trishka says:

hi there ! I wanted to know if you have any info about SA4U All New Data Entry , I nearly paid in the training fees then i noticed that the account name wasn’t a company but a woman.

    • Mvanlienden says:

I paid them in Jan 2010, am still waiting for anything from them. I’ve emailed and phoned, to no avail. STAY AWAY, they are NOT for real.

      • Cassandra says:

Perhaps you should call the Manager, Lanis on 072 728 9436, she will definately sort out any misunderstandings.

        • Alex says:

Are you kidding me? Do you WORK for them? They are crooks – there is no WORK – there is only a manual teching YOU how to scam OTHERS just as allnewdataentry has done to YOU… How do people like you sleep at night?

          • Alex says:

But thanks for putting Lanis’ number on the internet – people, you NEED to call her and call her OFTEN – clog up her inbox, keep that line busy – doesn’t have to be offensive, just annoying!!! And if she changes her number, I’ll make sure it’s reflected on this blog

    • Cassandra says:

I have worked for this company for the last 4 months and received my money every week. I am sick of people trashing this company as it is the only legit company in SA. You should watch out for International Data Income as they are a rippoff.

      • Liza says:

        Hi there

Do you have to look for the work from SA4U All New Data Entry or do they send it to you. I am looking at joining as well but obviously want to make sure that it is definitely a legit opportunity?

      • ashleigh says:

Cassandra is not a real person but rather made up by the owner to throw people off their ‘scam scent’.

i even received an email addressed to her about money they were paying to her for work done. I am supposed to believe that this email was sent to me by mistake and that it is a legitmate email to a legitimate person.

        wow, these people are GOOD!!

        • Pieter says:

I checked this out and their web site SCREAM the words data entry scam. People must learn to be more careful. How can you trust anything that was build on a free web site facility. If you see a domain that has the dommain name followed by webs.com you know this person do not even have money to build a proper web site. Let that be one of the signs, if the web site is on a free web thing like webs.com DO NOT go near it.

  13. kim says:

Hi pieter i was on the edge of bying the dataworx package this week, then i thought i first want to check it out again! What do u think about this package, its also under the hbiz site! I got post about that bout a month ago! Will appreciate it if u can reply, tnx! Kim

  14. Natasha says:

Natasha is it possible you can send me your e-mail address. I went through the same scenario.

  15. Pieter says:

Natasha you can do what I do. Create a blog where you evaluate and expose these scams. You add some google ads and affiliate banners on it and you are on your way to earn an income from your web site or blog. I am about to launch my DVD where I show you step by step how to register a domain and setup such a blog. See http://www.createyourownwebsite.co.za

  16. Natasha says:

Yes, I have been around the Internet and online job searches religiously for the past 2 weeks. The data entry jobs are scams. I corresponded with someone yesterday only to sign up at night and learn I was caught in a scam. I want to make money right now….somehow by exposing scams like these. Please advise if anything like this is possible. I am out to get the scamsters…

    • Sandy says:
