SurveyBasket

Making money from online surveys is one of the most searched for topics on the Internet.

The sad fact is that your chance of making money from online surveys are close to zero, especially if you stay in a non-USA country.

Most online survey companies on the internet mostly have surveys for Americans only

BUT there is a South African online survey company who claims that you will get paid for completing surveys online.

The site is at http://www.surveybasket.co.za

I decided to investigate and give them a try.

I did a bit of due diligence and found that the site belongs to a prominent person in the marketing industry. I did have a telephonic interview with the owner and everything seems above board and it seems as this is not just another fly by night survey site.

Although the domain has been registered in 2007, the concept was only launched in May last year and the panel system was only launched in August 2009. At the moment there is a big demand for proper surveys by South African companies.

At first the R75 activation fee bothered me.  According to them the R75 activation fee is to make sure only serious participants apply. This makes 100% sense to me. I can see on some of the other programs which I joined in the past that thousands of people join something but in the end only about 10% the people do something. When I asked the owner of the site about this he said that he did try a survey site before and they found that people register multiple accounts and just click any answer to get money. The R75 activation fee is a way to prevent this from happening, it is kind of a screening process to ensure that they have a quality panel.

They also mention that you can get your R75 back in the form of a referral fee. You will earn 200 “baskets” per referral which is equal to R20. Like most similar programs you can only request a payout once your account reaches R100 or more. The owner of the site also confirmed that if somebody joined the site, paid his R75 and feels that it is not what he wanted it to be they will gladly refund him or her.

R75 is not money anymore, you cannot even go out for supper with R75 anymore.

So I joined SurveyBasket and paid my activation fee.

My account has been activated within about 5 hours after my deposit.

What I liked is that I did not receive any sleazy follow-up emails (sales pitches) which tried to convince me to activate my account. This is a good sign.

When I logged in there was one survey ready for me.

This was a general demographics survey  and it earned me 150 “baskets” which is equal to R15.

I might also mention here that if you would like to try this as a “get rich scheme” then you will be disappointed. These guys want to run real quality surveys completed by a quality panel. They will not send you a survey per day exactly to try and prevent the “get rich quick” attitude. They also monitors the time people take to complete a survey and the answers they give. This is to differentiate between the “happy clickers” and the people who complete the survey for real.

So if you are serious and if you would like to make a positive contribution then I suggest that you join today to avoid loosing out in future.

i’ve paid and fax my bank slip but my acoount is not active yet how long does it take

    • Pieter says:

How long ago did you pay and fax? Mine was activated within 5 hours. Sems like their business has really taken off now so give them a bit of time. Send them an email and ask them how long it will take

    • Pieter says:

@Wiseman, I asked SurveyBasket what was going on and they replied with: “Thanks. We couldn’t actually read his fax, so didn’t have any idea who it was. It has been activated.”

  5. Francois says:

Joined, paid R75 and had 3 surveys in two weeks for a total of R55 return. Will see what happens

    • The R says:

Francois – what happened? Are you getting some surveys or are they dying out?

@ Pieter: Is there an American site that you trust that does the same. I’m thinking here that with PayPal, things should be a bit easier? Yes?

      • Pieter says:

I do not know any American site that can be trusted. Besides trusting them, the biggest problem of the ones I tested are that almost all of their surveys are for Americans or Canada only.
The Survey basket thing dried up, I received 4 Surveys in total which earned me more than what I paid to register but for the past month I did not receive one Survey.

  6. Andrea says:

    • Pieter says:
