Global Verge a scam or not?

Although I added this under the scam section I really do not know what to make of this yet and I hope that some of our readers would be able to tell us what they think.

I received this email below. My concern is that as far as I can remember somebody did try to implement “Internet over powerlines”  some years ago and the problem they had was that the lines belong to Eskom and if they want to transfer data on the lines they must pay rent to Eskom.

If you read the email below you will see that this is more or less what these guys want to do. Are there anybody out there who knows if this would be permitted in SA? Seems like they are already taking money from South Africans for registration fees and I am not quite sure if this would be legal in South Africa?

Anybody’s input would be much appreciated……

Introducing Low Cost Mobile Phones, High Speed Internet and Video Conferencing to South Africa

What if……….
• You could plug a box into your wall plug, switch it on and immediately access 100mbps broadband Internet in your home or office?
• You were able to access the Internet 24/7 at lightning speeds and download and upload as much data as you want?
• You were able to hold world-wide Video calls with business associates, family members and friends as if they were in the same room with no lag?
• You could call anyone anywhere for any length of time free of charge using your wireless phone in your home or office?
• You could play online games at optimal speeds with low latency and no lag?
• You could earn a phenomenal income just by sharing this information with others?
• This would cost you much less than you are currently paying for your Internet, Mobile, landline and/or DSTV connection?
• You had the chance to be part of the initial launch of the latest communications technology to hit planet earth?
• You had an entire support team at your disposal to help ensure your success?
• You could get started by clicking a few buttons right now?
• This really was affordable?
Would you be interested?

Global Verge, our host company, has recently signed a contract with Zer01 Mobile to bring this service to the globe.
The initial rollout will be in the following countries:
The US, UK, South Africa, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico.

this means that you can start doing business in these countries right now with around 130 more following soon.

What if………….
• Your company could reduce its communication bills by a staggering amount?
• Each of your travelling representatives could make all their calls for a mere $80 per month?
• All calls from your office could cost you $30 per month?
• You could provide this service to others and earn a massive residual income?
• You could do this with no administration whatsoever on your part?
Global Verge can provide you with all of the above.

We expect the first products to be shipped to South Africa within the next 45-60 days i.e. by around July 1 2009.
