The late, Jim Rohn, gives this advice about whom we spend time with:
‘We need to ask ourselves three questions in evaluating whether these people help or hinder the releasing of our potential.
Here is the first question: “Whom do I spend time with?” Make a mental note of the people with whom you most often associate. You’ve got to evaluate everybody who is able to influence you in any way.
The second question is: “What are these associations doing to me?” That’s a major question to ask. What have they got me doing? What have they got me listening to? What have they got me reading? Where have they got me going? What do they have me thinking? How have they got me talking? How have they got me feeling? What have they got me saying? You’ve got to make a serious study of how others are influencing you, both negatively and positively.

“Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them – Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the Air.
You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back.
But the other four Balls – Family, Health, Friends and Spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.”
WORK EFFICIENTLY DURING OFFICE HOURS AND LEAVE ON TIME. GIVE THE REQUIRED TIME TO YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS & HAVE PROPER REST.
“I’ve learned that possessions
do not determine your wealth
and that plastic credit cards
are “debtrimental” to your health.”
-Linda Ellis
This is so true. I know many people who are very rich but who are not wealthy. In general people have a whole misconception about what wealth is, it is not only the big bank balance or the Lamborghini in the drive way.
And the credit card part of the quote, also very true, ask me, I am one of those suckers.
It kills you.
If you are still young and you are reading this take this bit of advice;

“Happiness doesn’t depend on what we have, but it does depend on how we feel toward what we have. We can be happy with little and miserable with much.”
William Dempster Hoard - 1836-1918, Politician and Publisher
This quote is so true and I think most of our government top brasses fail the test:
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.
Abraham Lincoln
Negative people can keep you in poverty, by their comments. Yet the wealthy don’t listen to the negative comments of others. They see their goals and have done their homework. In the same way, when you learnt about Be Motivated Today, you realized that it could work. You read credible testimonies of people who are succeeding. You set some goals and you got started.

Does it sometimes feel that everything is getting too much?
Does it feel as if you just cannot find solutions for your problems?
Sometimes you have to schedule time alone for you to think. You must do this without TV, radio, music or anybody around you.
Schedule at least 10 minutes per day when you take time to think. You will be amazed how much more organized each day will be.

“You can’t change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying about the future.” – Anon
They say that worrying is like paying interest on money you have not borrowed.
So often we live in the past wishing we could change it, or worrying about the future with fear and trepidation.
So we miss the joy of the moment and in fact miss our life in the process.
Living in the moment means being present all day long. Taking time to enjoy things now. The sunsets, the falling leaves in the Autumn, snow capped mountains in the Winter, laughing children in the park. It means taking time in the moment to have fun. Having fun with colleagues, joking around and not being so serious all the time.
